Chief Corporate Paralegal at Pitney, Hardin, Kipp & Szuch LLP, Kate Lyn has
had over 14 years paralegal experience. She began at Skadden, Arps, Slate,
Meagher & Flom LLP in New York City where she gained skills in handling
corporate closings and Merger and Acquisition work. Her job as Head
Paralegal at Friedman Kaplan Seiler & Adelman LLP included hiring,
training, and supervising a paralegal staff. At Pitney, Hardin since 1999,
she coordinates the paralegal work for the corporate department, hires, and
trains other corporate paralegals. Her responsibilities in a growing
Corporate Department of over 30 attorneys include implementing standard
procedures for routine tasks, forming corporations and limited liability
companies, performing standard corporate housekeeping, assisting with due
diligence and closings, assisting with trademark filings and research, and
assisting with Edgar and SEC submissions. She created several databases to
track corporate filings and corporate entity records and also a
departmental FYI database that serves as a shared repository of various
procedures, regulations, and contacts. Kate Lyn has been an instructor
with the FDU Paralegal Studies Program since spring of 2001 and she also
serves on the Advisory Board.
